It is very important that the chemistry works between us, so during our first 30 minute conversation, we get to know each other a bit and see if we fit together. This takes about half an hour. If you don’t feel like I am the right fit for you, I can provide contacts of my colleagues so you can find your Doula. If either of us decides that we are not a good match for each other, we can choose not to proceed further.
Pre-birth conversations
If you choose me as your Doula, we will meet before your due date to go over your wishes for the birth, your concerns and worries. We work together to find out what you will need during the labour, and what is the best way to provide it.
During these two 90 minute visits we will talk about your birth preferences, address any questions you might have about giving birth in Switzerland and practice small helpful skills that can help you during pregnancy and birth.
We will also practice some birthing positions and techniques for coping with the pain, so you can find out what feels good and your partner can learn as well how to support you.
On-call
2 weeks before and 2 weeks after your due date, I am on call, 24/7. Once the labour starts, I can come to your home or directly to the hospital, and I stay until the baby is born.
Birth support
I will be there for you during your baby’s birth, providing physical and emotional support. I can help you try different positions and give you any form of massage that you are interested in.
If you would like me to, I can take pictures or video of the birth on your device.
Post-birth
visit
We will meet for a 90 minute conversation after birth, once you feel ready. During this meeting, I will help you reflect back on your pregnancy, birth and postpartum and provide emotional support if needed. Additional postpartum visits can be booked.
